Area Wide Steering Commitee

The Oiled Regions of Alaska Foundation was formed to help southcentral Alaska towns and villages. We receive and distribute donated funds for charitable purposes that benefit communities and regions that were directly impacted by the Exxon Valdez oil spill of March 1989.

A community-based foundation...

Like you, each of us and our families, friends, neighbors, and communities suffered from the Exxon Valdez oil spill. We know that the long-term damages from this spill continue to haunt our fishing businesses and affect our daily lives. And we know that any monetary damage award will not come close to compensating us, our communities, or our region for the permanent losses.

This is why we joined together to form the Oiled Regions of Alaska Foundation. We believe this organization will help individuals, families, and our communities rebuild and recover by creating a permanent way to give back year after year.
